Terri Thompson, age 57, passed away August 24, 2025. She was born on June 27, 1968 to Edward & Ann Nartowicz in
Corpus Christi, TX. She was raised in
Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Flour Bluff High School in 1986. She married Russell Thompson of 25 years on March 27, 1987. She was employed by the Holiday Inn downtown marina where she got to do what she loved most and that was serving others and helping celebrations become lasting memories. She was extremely talented at event coordinating and always loved being able to be a part of each and every celebration she was involved with. Terri was a loving mother, sister, Nana, and friend. She had a servant's heart and a deep love for Jesus, which she lived out in her everyday life. One of the many ways she expressed her faith was through preparing meals for her church family. She was always baking cookies, cooking for a gathering, or making sure everyone felt cared for. Terri showed Christ's love through her generosity and hospitality.
Terri truly loved baking if she had the opportunity to make you cookies or cake, that gave her so much joy and filled her heart immeasurably. This was one of the many ways she showed those around her how much she cared.
Terri had a deep love for life's most joyful celebrations, especially Christmas and Fourth of July. Christmas brought out her generous spirit. She found such happiness in decorating, gift-giving, and making sure everyone around her felt the warmth and wonder of the season. Fourth of July was also a cherished time gathering with loved ones, watching fireworks light up the sky, and celebrating community and country with pride. She loved America, looked forward to every Blue Angels air show and had great love and respect for all who have served or are currently serving our country. These holidays reflected her bright, festive soul always finding reasons to bring people together and create lasting memories.
One tradition she always looked forward to was her annual cookie swaps. She poured her heart into every detail, from carefully selecting recipes to decorating with her festive charm. Whether she was testing new cookie creations or packaging up sweet treats with ribbons and love, she made each gathering feel magical. For her, it wasn't just about the cookies, it was about bringing people together, sharing joy, and creating memories that were just as sweet. Her cookie swaps became treasured events, filled with laughter, warmth, and the unmistakable feeling of being welcomed and loved.
She was very active and had completed multiple triathlons in her lifetime. Terri was a true example of determination, discipline, and passion, shown through her love of triathlons. Competing in numerous races over the years, she trained tirelessly swimming, biking, and running with strength and heart. She faced each challenge with grit and grace, always pushing herself to be better and inspiring others along the way. Her dedication to the sport was not just about competition, but about personal growth, perseverance, and living life to the fullest. The finish lines she crossed were more than milestones; they were symbols of the drive and spirit that defined who Terri was.
She was also the very heart and soul of Flour Bluff, a proud Hornet through and through, with more spirit than anyone you'd ever meet. Whether it was under the Friday night lights, in the stands at a pep rally, or cheering from the sidelines of any school event, Terri showed up loud, proud, and full of love for the community that meant so much to her. She believed wholeheartedly in the people, the traditions, and the community of Flour Bluff. She wore maroon and white like a badge of honor, supporting students, athletes, and families with boundless energy, encouragement, and joy. Terri brought people together with her contagious enthusiasm, bright smile, and unwavering support, a true champion for the community who never missed a chance to lift others up. Flour Bluff has lost one of its fiercest supporters, but Terri's spirit will forever echo in the cheers, the chants, and the pride that lives on in every Hornet heart.
More than anything, Terri was devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world and her greatest joy and proudest legacy. She poured her heart into every single moment spent with them, offering unconditional love, joy, laughter and support. Whether it was a listening ear, a warm hug, or a word of encouragement, she had a way of making each person feel deeply cherished. Her love lives on in the joy and deep love she passed down, the traditions she started, and the countless memories shared with those she held closest to her heart. She absolutely loves and adores each and every one of you.
She will be remembered by each of these amazing things she loved to do, her incredible accomplishments, the spirit she carried to every game, the laughs that I know we can all hear right now and the unconditional love she poured out to every single person around her and the completely amazing woman she was.
