Miles Ray Graham, the ultimate family man and respected community pillar, passed away at the age of 76 surrounded by his family in his beloved hometown of
Corpus Christi, Texas, on January 28, 2025, due to heart failure. Born on September 22, 1948, Miles' life was a testament to his steadfast love for his family and the community that raised him.
Miles' youth was spent on a farm in Flour Bluff, where he not only completed his education at Flour Bluff High School but later was honored as an inaugural member of the Flour Bluff Athletic Hall of Fame. His dedication to the community was unwavering, and it was here that he laid the foundations of a life marked by service, commitment, and love.
Professionally, Miles' earnest work ethic and analytical mind led him to a successful career as a banker and homebuilder. However, despite his professional achievements, he often said his most fulfilling role was that of a full-time grandpa. He took great pride in this role and invested his heart and soul in the lives of his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Tony Graham; daughter-in-law, Cathy Graham; and grandchildren, Austin, McKenzie, and Zachary, who were the light of his life. His legacy also lives on through his devoted sister, Carol Edens, and sisters-in-law, Janis Wilkey and Judy Wranosky, numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
An ardent supporter of all things Flour Bluff, Miles' most recent passion was being the #1 fan of the Flour Bluff tennis program. His presence at matches was constant, as he engaged with players, provided water and Gatorade, and cheered on the team with unmatched enthusiasm. Miles' passion for sports was a thread that ran through the entirety of his life.
Away from the tennis courts, Miles could often be found on the ranch in Goliad. Whether he was hunting, filling feeders, or simply savoring the bliss of solitude in the man cave, he was truly in his element. And yet, it was not the act of hunting or the thrill of the catch that he loved most; it was the storytelling that ensued, a skill he mastered as seamlessly as he lived.
Miles also enjoyed casting a line into the waters on a fishing trip, a pastime that not only brought peace but also furnished tales for future recounting. On occasion, he would trade the serenity of the waters for the greens of the golf course, where his lively and competitive nature made him a favored partner.
To know Miles was to know a man who was intentional, selfless, and loving in nature. His stories, often bursting with humor and wisdom, will continue to echo in the hearts and memories of all who knew him. Above all, his ability to weave a tale was not merely about entertainment but about creating connections, sharing lessons, and leaving a piece of himself with those he loved.
Miles Ray Graham lived a life that was rich in experiences, relationships, and an abundance of love. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in knowing that his legacy will endure through the generations he touched with his generous spirit. His was a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
