Julane (Buteyn) Johndrow, 83, of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her residence in Beaver Dam.


Julane was born July 20, 1940 in Waupun, the daughter of Andrew and Rika Nyhuis Buteyn. Julane attended Waupun schools, graduating from Waupun High School in 1958. Following graduation she attended The Cradle in Evanston, Illinois. On January 28, 1961 she married Richard Johndrow in Waupun. Following their marriage they resided in Waupun for five years and then resided in Richmond, VA for 45 years. During this time she took up playing tennis, golfing, walking, and biking. What she mostly enjoyed was being with Dick, her boys and their wives, and the grandchildren which she cherished.


Julane is survived by her husband, Richard Johndrow of Beaver Dam; sons: David (Mary) Johndrow of Richmond, VA and Rick (Cynthia) Johndrow of Virginia Beach, VA; and grandchildren: Alex and Hannah of Richmond, VA; siblings: Ron (Claraine) Buteyn of Beaver Dam, Maureen “Teetoo” Buteyn (Carol Duer) of Beaver  Dam, Phil (Joy) Buteyn of Madison, and Wayne (Liz) Buteyn of Waupun; and nieces and nephews.


Julane was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Rika Buteyn; and father and mother-in-law, Les and Mae Johndrow.


A celebration of Julane’s life will take place Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Gwen Loomans officiating. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
