Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home - WaupunGale Alfred Dahlke, age 82, peacefully passed away August 16, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Gale will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife of 60 years Susan (Wedge) Dahlke. His four cherished children; Timothy Dahlke, Fawn (Tony) Senn, Eon (Stacy) Dahlke, Bambi (Cory) Buchholz. 8 Grandchildren; Amber (Joseph) Zaccone, Brooklyn (Tyler) Kovalaske, Cearrah (Chase) Harmsen, Delanie (Cameron) Sauer, Malachi (Megan) Buchholz, Casper Dahlke, Micah Buchholz, Landen Dahlke. 8 Great-Grandchildren. Brother Dean (Nicole) Pillsbury, Sister Christean (Bill) Frank. Nieces, Nephews, relatives and very special family friends Larry and Nancy Kubehl.
Gale was born in Fairwater, WI on May 25, 1943 the son of Edwin R. Dahlke and Eleanor M. (Born) Dahlke. Gale was a graduate of Fox Lake High School. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. October 1961 to October 1965 during the Cuban Crisis.
Gale was a beloved husband, cherished father and grandfather, and a friend to many. Anyone who knew Gale felt his calm demeanor and easy going nature. Gale enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, playing cards with the Humble Gang and caring for the grounds at Wedge’s Resort. Gale was an ordained Chaplain and officiated weddings, funerals and baptisms as well as officiated church services at the Presbyterian Church of Fox Lake throughout the years.
Gale worked at John Deere Co. in Horicon, was the Camp American Legion Director for 7 years and most recently managed Wedge’s Resort in Fox Lake with his wife Susan. Gale was most proud of his 57 years as a member of the Robert W. Ginther American Legion Post 521 in Fox Lake. Gale served as the Dodge County and Fox Lake Post Commanders, was a 40/8 Commander and served 2 terms as the Wisconsin Legion State Chaplain. Gale served on the Fox Lake Fire Department for 25 years and retired as a Lieutenant. Gale was a member of Living Hope Community Church of Fox Lake.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents; Edwin Dahlke, Willard and Eleanor Pillsbury. Father-in-law Warren and mother-in-law Viola Wedge. Brother-in-law Warren Wedge.
Honoring Gale’s wishes, a private family service and military honor guard will be held at Fox Lake Legion. A Celebration of Life will follow September 7th, 1-3pm at Fox Lake Legion. Burial will be at the Randolph Cemetery at a later date.
