Julia "Judy" Thompson Allspach, 82, of Bevier, MO, formerly of Rhodes, IA went home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Julia was born on August 19, 1941 in Marshalltown, IA, the daughter of Chester and Myrtle (Loupée) Thompson. Julia was baptized and confirmed at St. John's United Church of Christ in rural Newton, IA. Later in life Julia was a devout follower of Pastor Arnold Murray and his son Dennis Murray, of the Shepards Chapel as a non-denominational Christian.
Julia was a graduate of Newton High School. In her junior year through a Newton High School work placement program, she started work at The Vernon Company, as a graphic artist. She worked on designs for such companies as Ditch Witch, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Walt Disney Resort, and many others. Julia worked at Vernon's until January of 1972.
Julia was united in marriage to Larry "Ozzie" Neal Allspach on July 11, 1959, in Newton, IA at St. John's United Church of Christ. In January of 1972, Julia and Larry moved to Bevier, MO, where they raised their family. Julia furthered her graphic arts career working at Walsworth Publishing Company in Marceline, MO. She had to retire at a young age due to her health issues. Julia then became a full-time house wife and helping her husband raise cattle and coyote dogs on their farms in Callao and later Bevier.
Julia did follow her passion and God given talent as an artist through the art form of fine hand painted porcelain China. Because of her high talent of skill, she had several of her pieces selected to be placed at the World Organization of China Painting Museum in Oklahoma City, OK. She also received high honors of certification for her fine art of hand painted porcelain China placing her works beside and equal to worldwide renowned masters of the craft of China painting. Early on she enjoyed attending her Ladies of the Shamrock Club, for luncheons and conversation. Julia also was a talent with designing and constructing their new homes, adding unique structures to both homes. She loved riding horses, working in her beautiful flower gardens, and also growing vegetables along side her husband, Larry.
Julia is survived by her loving family; one son, Randy Allspach and wife Mary of Bevier; three daughters, Lisha Davis of Kidder, MO, Lonnie Graham and husband Chuck of Hallsville, MO, Lori Andell and husband Joe of Holt, MO; five grandchildren, Josh Allspach and wife Jessica of Macon, MO, Jessi White and husband Andrew of Columbia, MO, Ashley Sapp and husband Adam of Ashland, MO, Cameron Graham and wife Sam of Columbia, MO, and Lance Andell and wife Kayla of Kearney, MO; ten great grandchildren, Jenna and Jake Allspach, Dexter, Archer, and Dawson White, Nolan Davis, Lucas and Kinley Sapp, and Kelleigh and Joseph Andell.
