Julie Bea Coon was taken from this world far too soon on Sunday, April 13, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1957 to Frank M. and Beulah (Durst) Kaucic in Cleveland, OH. She married Michael D. Coon on November 25, 1977 in Cleveland, OH. Julia and Michael raised three children and celebrated nearly 48 years of marriage together.
She was one of the most loved people in the world, and if you ever had the privilege of being in the same room as her, it was easy to see why. Julie lit up places and faces with her smile and filled hearts with her abundant kindness. If her children ever mentioned her name in a room, the immediate response was always, "I just love your mom."
Julie lived each day with excited passion. She was a skilled crafter as well as the maker of the best strawberry jam in the world. She loved to play board games, Rummikub, Wordle, and Connections. And she tried her hand at basically everything at least once, including soap making, knitting, and everything Cricket. But her favorite pastimes were spending time with family and friends; and in particular, being the cherished and treasured grandma, mother, and wife of every person's dreams.
As the computer teacher, Julie was a staple in the scholastic journey of over 20 years of students at Woodmore Elementary School. Many of these kids would come back to see her up until and sometimes after they graduated from high school.
Yet the true center of her life was always her family. She was so proud of her children and her grandchildren and looked forward to a time when she would travel between her kids' houses full time, going to every dance recital, tee ball game, and graduation ceremony, cheering on her family with the same heart and gusto with which she approached everything.
She was preceded in death by her parents Beulah (Durst) Kaucic and Frank Kaucic as well as her brother Richard Kaucic and her sister-in-law Sharon (Yeckley) Kaucic. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael; her three children: Michael (Andrea) Coon, Shannon (John) Trudell, and Jennifer (David) Herrera; her five grandchildren: Devin, Phoenix, Carmen, Charlotte, and Rafael; her brothers Jack Durst and James Kaucic; her sisters-in-law Marilyn Durst, Denise Kaucic, and Michelle Stambaugh, and her brother-in-law Joseph Stambaugh.
Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 220 Cedar Street Pemberville, OH. A time of additional visitation will be at the church starting at 10 a.m., until time of services. Officiating will be, Rev. Tim Philabaum.
The family will host a luncheon immediately following the service at the Pemberville American Legion Hall located at 405 East Front Street, Pemberville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials take the form of contributions: Pemberville Public Library. Those wishing to express a word of encouragement may share a memory or photo at www.marshfuneralhomes.com
