PLEASANTDALE Julia A. Duchowny, 80, of River Rd. passed away Thursday May 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth VanNorden Duchowny. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
Julia had been employed for 15 years at Goldman Sachs in Latham and retired in 2012. Prior to that she was employed by Ryder Rental Trucks.
She was a dedicated volunteer of the Troy Volunteers Drum and Bugle Corps. She enjoyed gardening, reading and interior design. Her greatest pleasure though was spending time with her family.
Julia was the widow of Thomas E. Duchowny who died in 1975. She was the devoted mother of Charlene Boivin (Patrick), Karen Buess (Stephen) of Pleasantdale and the late Christine L. Lucey and Daniel T. Duchowny. She is the sister of the late Nancy Forman and Michael Wellington. She is the proud grandmother of Thomas J. Lucey, Richard D. Duchowny, Ryan T. Lucey (Kala), Evan and Lauren Buess and great grandmother of Daniel Duchowny, Liliana, Brielle and Aubrey Lucey and Richard Duchowny Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive as well as her beloved cat Sammi.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 7 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 prior to the memorial service.
Special thanks are extended to the hospice staff for their comfort and support.
