Julia Weaver Nanez, 91, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on May 22, 2025, in her hometown of Victoria.
Born on March 12, 1934, in Victoria, Julia was the daughter of the late Joe Weaver and Lucille Valdez. A lifelong resident of Victoria, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life centered around her faith, her family, and her community.
Julia is survived by her loving children: Lydia Reyna (Santiago), Mary Nanez, Angelita Nanez Cueller, and Roy Nanez (Sherry), all of Victoria, TX. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in her 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life and will carry her memory forward with love and pride.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Felipe Nanez; her daughters Delia Monjaraz and Alice Martinez; one great-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild; and her parents.
Visitation will be held at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Continued visitation will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with chapel services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adam Sanchez, Augustine Reyna, Juan De Leon Jr., Anthony C. Sanchez Jr., Josh Garcia, and Joe Monjaraz. Honorary pallbearers are Luis Sanchez and Daniel Reyna.
Julia will be remembered for her unwavering strength, deep compassion, and the warmth she shared so generously with those around her. Her gentle spirit and steadfast love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
