It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julia D. Pender of Centenary, who left us on May 6, 2025, at the age of 87. Julia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt and a cherished member of the community. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
Julia was born on April 15, 1938, in Clinton, to Dominic Bertolino and Beulah Stuper Bertolino. She attended Clinton High School, and she went on to work at General Housewares in Terre Haute for 32 years. Julia married Preston Eugene Pender on July 27, 1957. She was a member of Sugar Grove Methodist Church.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Preston, Sons; Ronald, Michael and daughter, Debra DiVincenzo, sister; JoAnn (Donald) Walters, and her brother Philip (Betty) Bertolino,
Survivors include 4 Grandchildren: Katrina DiVincenzo of Indianapolis, Samantha (Patrick) Kelly of Indianapolis, Antonio Pender of Clinton and Julia (Kevin) Rush of Eight Mile, Alabama, 4 great grandchildren, Sawyer Kelly, Travis Rush, Brooklyn and Savanna, and several nieces and nephews
Julia's legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the countless lives she touched throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Giovanini Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Duke officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sugar Grove Methodist Church in Julia's memory.
