Julia Ramirez Salinas, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 6th, 2024. She was born to Diego and Maria Ramirez on July 30, 1935 in Laredo, Texas.
Julia was a strong woman of faith and was devoted to her church where she served in the Altar Society for over 25 years. She was employed by Ingleside ISD in the food service department where she retired after 21 years of service in May of 2000. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and was the heart and soul of the family. Her kitchen was the gathering place of many Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations with laughter and the pitter patter of little feet running around the house. Her homemade tamales were legendary, and she delighted in teaching the recipe to each new generation. She loved to dance and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and had a green thumb for gardening. She loved life and never let the grass grow under her feet. She had a big beautiful smile that would light up any room she entered. We were Blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years and will treasure the wonderful memories and stories we shared with her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Salinas of 54 years and her daughter Diana Edison (Arturo).
She leaves behind her four children. Eloy Salinas, De-Alva Moncrief (Byron), Ray Salinas Jr. and Debra Alvarado (Raymond). And her grandchildren, Maria Salinas (Adrian), Tavis Salinas, Byron Moncrief Jr. (Carla), Leah Bertram (Kevin), Wesley Moncrief (Crystal), Raymond Alvarado Jr. (Sandra), Crystal Brunner (Jake), Marcus Edison, Marissa Edison, Diego Edison and Steven Edison. Also 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
