Julian Diaz, of Emmaus, PA, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Sunday, August 18, 2024 after a tragic accident. At the young age of 18, he had his entire life ahead of him. He was a proud graduate of Emmaus High School's Class of 2024, where he had recently completed his studies and was eager to embark on the next chapter of his life. He also graduated from the Auto Technology program at the Lehigh Career & Technical Institute (LCTI), preparing him for a promising career as an auto mechanic at Scott Mazda, where he was currently employed. He was a member of the Macungie Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he learned the hope we have for the future.
Julian was raised in a tight knit family and was a beloved son to his parents, Molly and Joel Diaz, who nurtured his curiosity and encouraged his many interests. He was a devoted brother to all four of his siblings, each of whom he shared a special bond with. He reinforced his love to his family, as some of his last words spoken was telling them how much he loved them.
Spending time with friends was also something Julian enjoyed, whether it was on the basketball court, playing spike ball, or delving into the pages of his favorite DC comics. He was always looking forward to his next adventure, embodying a spirit of excitement and joy that touched everyone around him; as being in his presence was sure to make you laugh and have a good time.
Not only were his friends and family near and dear to his heart, but Julian's dog, Oakley had a special place too. They loved spending time playing and rough housing together and Oakley could always count on Julian to sneak him food under the table and spoil him in his own way.
Julian had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, like savoring his mom's homemade sticky buns, indulging in a plate of bacon, enjoying a bowl of Ramen noodles, and one of his favorite treats, the Wendy's Baconator.
One of his favorite weekly traditions was "lazy Sunday", where he would spend the afternoon and evening relaxing, while playing video games and watching his favorite movies. Ironically, he fell asleep in death on a Sunday, where he can now peacefully rest until we see him again.
Julian leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, bravery, loyalty, and an unwavering zest for life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Julian is survived by his parents, Joel and Molly (Gring) Diaz; siblings, Jonah (Sarah Seidler), Mariah (fiancé of William Price), Javen, and Jace; maternal grandfather, Charles Gring (Loretta); paternal grandmother, Emma Mateo (Jesus); paternal great-grandmother, Josefa Santiago; multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Cedar Crest College Alumnae Hall, 100 College Dr. Allentown, PA. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Cedar Crest College Alumnae Hall. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Allentown.
