Julie Lynn Bateman

Julie Lynn Bateman, age 63 of rural Good Thunder died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 4 - 7 p.m., at Northview ~ North Mankato.

Julie was born July 26, 1960, to Jerry and Jean (Mallin) Forland in Mankato. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1978 and later attended Mankato State. Julie was united in marriage to Jeff Bateman on June 8, 1985, in Mankato. She worked many years with Blue Earth County as a Librarian.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapidan. Julie was a lifelong Vikings fan and loved cheering them on. She loved to read, play cards with her family, and dance to her favorite music. Julie believed in living her life with as much positivity as possible and always tried to see the best in everyone.

Julie is survived by her husband, Jeff; three children, Jason Bateman of Mankato, Josh Bateman of Good Thunder, Jackie (Steve) Hlavac of North Mankato; companion, Lucy (the cat); sister, Nancy (Daryl) Piltz of St. Cloud; many in laws; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
