SMIAROWSKI, Juna Grace, age 86, of Linden, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at Fenton Health Care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00AM Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Avalon Hospice or Fenton Health Care. Juna was born May 31, 1923 in Mason, the daughter of the late Eugene and Gladys (Sibrell) Wood. She married Bernard Smiarowski on October 20, 1943 in Pratt, Kansas. Juna was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, participating in Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, a member of the Council of Catholic Women, and volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul. In addition, she was a past Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother for the Boy Scouts. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Bernie; 4 children, Steve Smiarowski of Grand Blanc, Pat Smiarowski (Kathy) of Water Vliet, Mary Virgin (Jeff) of Fenton, Jeanne Comparet (Tom) of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Melodye Smiarowski of Linden; 12 grandchildren, Andy (Julie), Katie, Matt; Greg and Michelle and their mother, Helene; P.J. (Ronya), Jenny (Joe), Jessica (Sean), Joel, Kristen, Krystal, Danielle (Brian); 8 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Joey, Zaine, Nicolas, Jaiden, Jozlynn, Corgan, Kaylynn; sister, Jane Buiten; 2 brothers, Andrew Wood, Brice Jenney; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael in 2009; sister Charlotte; and 2 brothers, James and Elwyn.
