June Jantz
Our much-loved Mom and Mimi, June Elaine Jantz, was born on September 17, 1938, to John H. and Evelyn Jantz in Fredonia, KS. She peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 9, 2024.
Mom often talked about her growing up years in Fredonia on the family farm with her 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She gave her heart to the Lord, and was baptized on January 28, 1954, by her Uncle Jesse Jantz. She remained true to those vows until the end. On October 26, 1958, she was married to my Dad, Stan Jantz.
The first 18 years of married life were spent at Winton, CA where three children were born. Without Mom ever visiting Clarksdale, we moved in the spring of 1976 to begin farming in Mississippi. Two years later the family circle was broken in December 1978 when her son Lyle was taken in a tragic accident.
Family was important to her. She was very close to her siblings and enjoyed many good times together with them, traveling and going to reunions. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her. She often let them know she loved them and was praying for them. She freely expressed her love and affection to those around her. She enjoyed competitive board games, puzzles, and boiling hot coffee. Part of Moms daily routine was walking with friends. Lighthouses were of special interest to her and were often included in her travels.
Mom was no stranger to grief. Nearly five years ago she lost her husband and six months later her daughter, Carmen.
We will miss our Mother and Mimi but are comforted in knowing her suffering is over and she is at rest in that beautiful land.
Those left to follow her example are her son: Joshua and Megan Jantz, Clarksdale, MS, son-in-law Todd and Pam Haynes, Carson City, MI. Grandchildren: Mikah Jantz and Lauren Jantz, Jamie and Terry Schmidt, Rachelle and Taylor Giesbrecht, of Clarksdale MS, Jordan and Alicia Haynes, Natasha and Elijah iung of Carson City, Michigan. Nine great grandchildren. Siblings: Winona and Russell Koehn of Montezuma, KS, Keith and Pam Jantz of Kansas City, MO, Janet Jost, Brooksville, MS. Sisters-in-law: Delores Holdeman, Paris, TX, Elnora Jantz, Stover MO, Marge Jantz, Scio OR. Her husband's family: Ron and Marlene Jantz, Uvalde TX, Ina Jantz and Florence Jantz, Winton CA. Many nieces, nephews, and friends, and special friends Jerry and Kris Schmidt.
She was predeceased by her husband Stan Jantz, two of her children, Lyle and Carmen, parents and parents in law, four brothers and one sister. Five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
