June Pyle Kilpatrick (66) of Bienville, Louisiana passed away on July 31, 2024, after battles with both lung and bladder cancer.
June was born on April 14, 1958 to Duaine and Virginia Pyle in Pasa Robles, California. They moved to the Gibsland area while she was in high school. After finishing school and moving around locally, June eventually settled in Baytown, Texas. It was there that she worked in home health for many years before deciding to pursue other jobs that made her happy. June believed in living a life that made you happy. She worked to live, not lived to work. She owned and cooked at a restaurant and then finally settled on dog breeding after buying her first Scottish Terrier.
She fell in love with Scotties and spent the last 20 years making people happy by providing them with their "dream puppy." She had dogs become grand champions in the show ring and compete as hunters in barn skills competitions. And if you know anything about Scotties you know they are fun but also stubborn and independent, just like June was. She was always the life of the party but would also do anything to help a friend. She will be missed greatly by her friends and family.
June is survived by her spouse of 31 years, Eldred Lynn Kilpatrick Jr.; her son, James Curtis Stewart, and his wife Paige; her daughter, Jackie Stewart Gravois, and her husband Shaun; her daughter, Christy Kilpatrick and her husband Michael Hart; her grandchildren Briana Stewart, Nathan Gravois, Cooper Gravois, Phillip Gravois, and Mollie Gravois; her mother, Virginia Pyle; and her siblings, David and Adrian Pyle and their families.
She was preceded in death by her father Duane Pyle and brother Heath Pyle.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston for their amazing care over the last three years, especially Dr. Gibbons, Dr. Lee, and Dr. O'Reilly, and also to Passages Hospice of Minden for their compassionate care and support during the last few weeks, especially nurses Rhonda, Sonia, and her CNA Beverly.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bienville Methodist Church, 511 Spruce St, Bienville, LA 71008 (the corner Spruce and 3rd). Friends and family are invited to share a meal and memories of June immediately following the service at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to either M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
The family would also like to use this moment to remind everyone who reads this that smoking kills and asks everyone to please stop or never start.
