Beloved June Rose Meert advanced to God's loving arms on Friday, December 19, 2025 of natural causes at her Independence Manor, Flemington, NJ home at the age of 104 years. She was the daughter of the late Charles "Hap" Jaloski and Kathrine "Kate" McMahon Jaloski, of Bairdford, PA.
Born June 21, 1921 in Bairdford, PA she was a graduate of Etna High School, Etna, PA and St. Margaret's Hospital Nursing School. As a registered nurse, June's nursing skills were applied in the maternity ward, operating room, and on private duty. June later became a school nurse from 1962-1969 in Levittown, PA (Neshaminy School District) and later in Carnegie, PA (Carlynton School District).
Additionally, she was a college graduate, earning her B.S. degree in 1969 from The State College of New Jersey (then Trenton State College).
On July 1, 1943, June married George John Meert of East McKeesport, PA. They were married for 64 years. Her husband George retired from the U.S. Steel Corporation in 1980. Following his retirement, they spent two years in Venezuela on her husband's consulting assignment. Subsequently, they returned stateside to make their home in Fredericksburg, VA. June enjoyed golf, gardening, bridge, and entertaining.
Blessed with longevity, the Meert's made their home's in East McKeesport, PA, Levittown, PA, Upper St. Clair, PA, Fredericksburg, VA, Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, Northampton, PA and Flemington, NJ.
June is survived by sons, Mike of Charlotte, NC and Jim and daughter-in-law, Gizelle, of Flemington, NJ. Granddaughter, Jacqueline Meert Spring and husband Daniel, and great-grandsons, Luke and Evan Spring, of Scotch Plains, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George J. Meert in 2008; her daughter-in-law, Joann Meert; as well as her three siblings: Chuck Jaloski, Irene Overath, and Jack Jaloski.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Burial will follow in Saint Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. There will be a repast following the burial at a location to be determined.
