June Darlene Wilhelmi (Peters) Age 90, of Minneapolis, passed away March 6, 2025. Preceded in death by husband Charles 'Charlie' Wilhelmi, parents Verna & Henry Peters, sister & brother-in-law Jane & Marlin Toews, son-in-law Joe Saba, and daughter-in-law Sherrie Wilhelmi. Caring wife and amazing mother, June was always the heart of our family. She was born and raised in North Dakota, where she played on the championship basketball team at Hampden School. She moved to Minneapolis where she raised her family and lived the remainder of her life. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and she loved the holidays! She was an amazing cook and made the best turkey dinner & apple pie (amongst many other things). She loved to travel, go for rides in the country, eat vanilla ice cream (but not vanilla bean!), and you'd never find her without her lipstick. She was an avid Twins fan and former season ticket holder. In addition to taking care of family, she worked for over 20 years at Saba Flowers in Brooklyn Center. June is survived by brother Rodney Peters of Grand Forks, ND; sons, Charles 'Chuck' (Linda) Wilhelmi, David Wilhelmi; daughters Cindy (Joe) Ramirez, Sandy (John) Staloch, Diane Saba, Sharon Wilhelmi; grandchildren Cory (Terri) Ramirez, Joey (Kirsten) Ramirez, Elizabeth(Jeff) Duke, Lauren Wilhelmi, Luke Wilhelmi, Jessica (Chad) Johnson, Joey Saba, Anthony (Kristen) Saba, Jordan Wilhelmi, Nick Wilhelmi, Dakota (cat), 10 great grandchildren and many extended family members.
A small family gathering will be held at Crystal Lake Funeral Chapel (Penn Ave N in Minneapolis) at 1:00 PM on Friday (3/21/25), where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in June's name to Metro Meals on Wheels.
