Junior Edward Jaco, age 85, of Benton, MO, died Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Born January 15, 1941, at New Madrid, MO, to the late Harley Otto Jaco and Hazel Crites Jaco, he had lived in Benton most of his life and was retired from the Water Department for the City of Cape Girardeau. Junior was a man of deep Christian Faith and loved his family. Junior was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing.
He married Helen Lynch and she survives of the home in Benton.
Also surviving is his son, Edward Jaco; his grandchildren, Robert Griffith, Jason Jaco, Jessica Jaco, Amber Seeley, Allison Jaco and Catherine Jaco; seven great grandchildren; his sister and brothers, Shelby Jean Looney, Jerry Jaco, Ray Jaco and Charles Jaco, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Hazel Carlota Jaco Boese, his brother, Virgil Jaco and his former wife, Barbara Jean Paynter Jaco.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
