Justin Lanier

Justin Lanier, age 44, passed away on September 10, 2025. Born on December 10, 1980, in Atlanta, GA, Justin's charisma and zest for life were evident from an early age. His infectious laugh and contagious smile were a source of light for all who knew him. A loving son, brother, and uncle, Justin's presence was a gift that left an indelible mark on everyone. He was cherished not only for his roles within the family but also for his unwavering friendship. To know Justin was to love him, and to call him a "Best Friend" was a title many held dear.

Justin loved traveling the world and cruises were a favored adventure, offering him opportunities to mingle, dance, and live each moment to its fullest. He enjoyed the great outdoors too, with the rush of rafting through turbulent rivers and the peace of hiking fueled his adventurous soul.

A foodie through and through, Justin found joy and connection in the culinary arts. His flair in the kitchen was matched only by his eagerness to share his creations with others.

Justin was active and always involved with his Riverside-Westside Community. To be in Justin's company during a community event was to feel like part of something larger.

At every gathering, Justin was undoubtedly the life of the party. His energy was magnetic, drawing people together in joy and celebration. The world has lost a radiant soul, but the memories of his kindness, his passion, and his vibrant spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sonny McTaggart, Mae and Greg Chaney, Leon Lanier and Ruth "Grandma Ruth" Lanier.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Sonya Lanier; brother, Corey Lanier (Brenda); sister, Kenya Lanier (Jenn); nephews and nieces, Chance Lanier (Shonna), Chandler Lanier (Sarah), Jackson Lanier, Bella Lanier, Justin Cox-Lanier, Maddy Cox-Lanier, and Ava Cason; great nephews and great nieces, Dallas, Chloe, Marley, Channing, Cash, AJ, Easton, and Crew; as well as beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Pastor Kasey Kuyper officiating. The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
