Justin Wayne McAfee

Justin Wayne McAfee, a radiant spirit whose joy for life was only matched by his love for his family and the great outdoors, passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 33. He was born on August 5, 1991 in Selma, Alabama to Michael McAfee and Ronda Smith. Justin was a beloved husband, devoted father, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.

For the past six years, Justin thrived in his role as a Lead Electrician for Petty Line, where his work ethic and dedication shone brightly. A proud graduate of Dallas County High School in 2010, he was celebrated not just as a student, but also as a leader on the football field, showcasing his skills as the starting quarterback. His journey continued at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, where he seamlessly transferred his passion and talent for the game into the collegiate arena.

Justin's spirit was multifaceted; he was a fun-loving and caring individual whose laughter resonated with a warmth that could light up even the darkest room. He found his bliss in the beauty of nature, frequently indulging in his passions for hunting—both dove and deer—as well as fishing. An ardent supporter of all things sports, he relished in football, baseball, basketball, golf, and any spirited competition that ignited his enthusiasm. Known affectionately as the family chef, Justin took pride in whipping up delectable meals, often turning cooking into a playful contest where creativity reigned supreme. His culinary creations were enhanced by his love for mixing sauces, proving that his distinct flavor extended far beyond the kitchen.

A passionate fan of the Auburn Tigers, Justin carried his team’s pride on his sleeve, often finding solace and camaraderie in the football season. He also loved watching The New York Yankees, enjoying the thrill and strategy of America’s pastime. Yet, it was not just in competitive sports that his heart found joy; he was also a devoted father who cherished every moment spent with his beloved children, often taking them on joyful rides in his trusty jeep. Each journey, filled with laughter and adventure, echoed his unwavering love and commitment to his family.

Above all else, Justin adored his wife, Jessica. Their bond was a testament to love, companionship, and shared dreams, a partnership that inspired those around them. Justin's memory will forever remain intertwined with the lives he touched, a lasting reminder of a life lived with passion, kindness, and a heart forever drenched in love for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thomas Wayne McAfee, George Humphreyes, Sr.; grandparents, Marjorie Jean Chavers, Bobby Crawford and Howard Watkins.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Allday McAfee; children, Aubree McAfee, Ryder McAfee, Paisley McAfee, Montana McAfee and Jase Sundy; mother, Ronda (Mark) Smith; father, Michael (Laurie) McAfee; grandparents, Nancy Watkins, Jerrine Crawford; brothers, Bryan McAfee and Nathan Smith; sister, Amber (Alan) Anthony; father and mother-in-law, Dale and Carrol Allday; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Mike Irwin officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Bearden, Jonathan Williams, Taylor Bone, Bryan McAfee, Jeffery Allday, Dale Allday, Jr., Alan Anthony, J.R. Latham, and Braxton Allday.

His legacy will forever live on through his five children. The family requests everyone to wear their camo to his celebration of life.
