Justin D. Phelps
44, of New Lebanon, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024. He was born May 19, 1980, in Dayton.
He is preceded by father Darrell Phelps; step-father Robert Mack; grandparents, Myrtle and Kash Johnson; grandparents Forrest and Genevieve Phelps; and best feline friend, Frodo.
He is survived by wife, Anna Lee; his daughter, Kylee Phelps, and her mother, Amanda Matuszewski; granddaughter, Violet Phelps; mother, Shirley Mack; brother, Josh Phelps; sister, Amy Montgomery (Steve); and loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
Justin will forever be missed as a man of integrity who never stopped trying to help others. He lit up the room with his ability to spread laughter anywhere to anyone. His extraordinary capacity to see the good in people was as stubborn as it was unparalleled. He loved learning, believing we are all and always students, and would talk for days about his passions, including tornadoes, baseball, music, food, and snow leopards.
Justin's greatest goal in life was to leave the world a better place than when he entered it. Please consider taking a moment to do something positive in his honor- hold the door for the person behind you, compliment a stranger, call an old friend, think a happy thought, or whatever you like. The world is forever better for having had Justin Phelps in it.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 14 from 11AM to 1PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with entombment following at Preble Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests you make a donation to Preble Memory Gardens to help with funeral expenses.
