Kaleb Hansen, 28, of Baxter, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at MercyOne in Des Moines surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services for Kaleb will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Baxter Community Center. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. at the Baxter Community Center. His funeral service will immediately follow visitation begin at 3:00 P.M. Kaleb will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Kaleb was born on Thursday, December 28, 1995, in Newton, Iowa, to parents Ivan Hansen and Amy (Oliviera) Hansen. Baxter was Kaleb's home, he grew up in Baxter and graduated from Baxter Community School District in 2013. Anyone visiting the Baxter grocery store could expect to get help from Kaleb. He had his job at the store for eight years before eventually moving on to Jeld-Wen.
Kaleb loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed playing video games, enjoyed riding his skateboard, motorcycles, cars, drag racing, drifting competitions and roll racing.
Those left to cherish Kaleb's memory include his mother Amy (John Butler) Hansen; father Ivan (Debbie Spires) Hansen; siblings Ivan (Harley) Hansen, James (Shevi Alter) Hansen, Callyn Bishop, stepbrother Brett Lucia, Brandon (Dekotah) Pohl, and Ben (Keisha Robbins) Sommar; grandparents Marsha and Richard Hansen, Nanci Deaton, and Rose Butler; great-grandmother Martha Bucklin; nieces and nephews Memphis, Greyson, and Nashville Hansen, Indy Leinen; great-uncle Jimmy Oliviera; and uncle John Oliviera Jr.
Kaleb is preceded in death by his grandpa John Oliviera Sr; aunt Lisa Witham; great-grandparents Keny and Bea Richardson; and great-grandpa Tom Bucklin.
