It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kallol Kumar Saha, age 45, on August 7, 2023, in
Memphis, TN. Kallol was born on April 22, 1978, in
Hilo, Hawaii. He was a beloved son of Kartik and Rina Saha.
Kallol lived a life based on love and devotion, always recognizing the importance of family. As a devoted father, he treasured his daughter, Aryaa, and cherished his role as a loving husband to his wife, Ayesha. He held his parents and sister close to his heart, cherishing every moment spent together. Kallol's genuine demeanor, enchanting smile, and gentle nature allowed him to establish lasting connections with those around him effortlessly. Friends near and far were genuinely captivated by his warm spirit and relished in his easy laughter.
Kallol was not only a compassionate physician, but he was also a symbol of resilience. He navigated physical challenges, battling cancer during his medical school years with unyielding determination. Undeterred by adversity, he prevailed, allowing nothing to sway his dreams and virtuous pursuit of earning his medical degree. Kallol served in the Air Force and faithfully practiced Family Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, dedicating his life to assisting others during their most vulnerable times.
Educational achievements played a significant role in Kallol's life. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Creighton University and further pursued extensive education. In addition to finally obtaining his cherished MD from Creighton University School of Medicine, Kallol further earned an MPH degree from East Tennessee State University and an MBA from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
Finding solace in his hobbies, Kallol spent joyous moments pursuing activities that energized his spirit. An avid tennis player and golfer, he embraced a life full of movement and ambition.
Believing in the enduring power of faith, Kallol found solace, comfort, and spiritual growth in his personal studies of the Bhagavad Gita and at his place of worship, Hope Church in Memphis.
Friends and family will have an opportunity to pay their final respects during a visitation service on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., hosted at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 5668 Poplar Ave,
Memphis, TN 38119.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to celebrate Kallol's life may make charitable contributions to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Left to cherish precious memories are his beloved wife, Ayesha Mukhopadhyay; his adored daughter, Aryaa Riandra Saha; his loving parents, Kartik and Rina Saha; his sister, Ruma Novotny (Mick), his nephews, Ashwin and Colter Novotny; his caring parents-in-law, Debabrata and Chandra Mukhopadhyay; his sister-in-law, Madhusha Mukhopadhyay (Hirak); his brother-in-law, Mayukh Mukhopadhyay; his uncles and aunts, Chhabi, Adhir, Nihar, and Putul; his cousins, Dilip, Tapashi, Mukul, Joyati, and numerous cousins in Bangladesh and India, along with his in-laws, the Bhaduri family.
Kallol's memory will forever grace our hearts, and although the sting of loss may be great, his legacy of love and kindness will transcend the trials of time. May his soul find eternal peace and serenity.
