Kappy Lynn Brooks Avant, 60, a homemaker, died April 29, 2025, at home. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Kappy's heart overflowed with jubilation whenever she spent time by the water, whether lounging by the pool or escaping to Galveston's breathtaking beaches. She was also deeply passionate about her fur babies, quality time with loved ones and cheering on the Houston Astros- experiences that filled her life with love, laughter, and adventure.
Survivors include her husband Sidney (Buddy) Avant of Batesville, MS; son Bubba Avant of Batesville, MS; brother Brent Brooks of Jackson, MS; sister Trish Brooks Williamson (Brian) of Angleton, TX; many nephews & nieces.
Preceded in death by her parents Glenn Brooks & Shirley Whitworth Brooks, brother Glenn Brooks.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
