Clarance Winter Jr., 64, of Clarksdale, MS, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at Northwest Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 3, 1961, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarance Winter Sr.
Clarance was a loyal member of the First Assembly of God Church, where he found peace and purpose in his walk with the Lord. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he shared that faith through his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. A talented handyman, Clarance was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His selfless spirit and gentle heart touched the lives of many. He lived by words that perfectly reflected his outlook on life:
"Life is too short. Hug a little longer. Love a little stronger. Forgive a little sooner and smile a little sweeter."
Clarance is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarance Winter Sr., and his sister Betty J. Murphree. He is survived by his brother-in-law, James Murphree; and two nieces, Amanda Murphree Stokes (children Noah Murphree and Mia Murphree) and Jameye Murphree (children Olivia McWilliams and Emma Slaughter); as well as a host of extended family and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Clarance will be remembered for his unwavering faith, kind heart, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Clarence was a member of the USS HAISE for many years and will be fondly remembered for his quiet kindness. Clarence embodied the spirit of bringing humanity, honor, and service to everyone he met. We'll see you again dear Clarence. We know that you will Live Long and Prosper! Bless you and all who know you.
