She was born in Brooklyn, NY to the Late Francis and Irene Smith on April 18, 1948.
Karen had various occupations however the one she loved and cherished the most was taking care of her beloved husband and devoted daughters. As her home grew she welcomed her 2 son in laws and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband Alan W. Barbarow, her loving daughters and son in laws, Lisa Zamparelli and her husband John, and Melissa Gambardella and her husband PJ. Also surviving are her sisters Irene Browning and Janet Smith, and her cherished grandchildren Sophia, Alexa, Brooke, Madison and Lily.
Visiting will be Monday November 27, 2023 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023 10:00am at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
