MUNCIE - Karen Rowe Boyer, passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 85.
She was born on June 29, 1939, in York, Pennsylvania. Karen dedicated her life to caring for others, as a registered nurse, a school nurse, wife, mother and friend. She attended the University of Wisconsin before attending Nursing School in Philadelphia, where she became a Registered Nurse, and then worked in the OR.
Karen was universally recognized as the kindest person, known for her love and compassion towards everyone she met. Her life was enriched by her interests in golf and playing bridge with friends and her husband, Fred, of whom she was married for 56 years, until his passing in 2021.
Karen's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughter Megan Charlton (Mike), son Matt Boyer, granddaughter Alexis Cooper (Cody), grandsons Griffin and Gavin Riley, and great-grandchildren Sylas and Addilynn Cooper, and brothers Bill Schlosser (Carol) and John Schlossr (Mary).
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at University Christian Church, 2400 N. Nebo Road Muncie, IN 47304.
In lieu of flowers, please be kinder to one another. That's what Karen wanted more than anything, in this world - more kindness.
