Karen S. Burchett, 75, of Fortville, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, in Indianapolis. She was born September 16, 1949, in Greenfield to the late Marshall and Hilda (Chapple) Goen. Karen was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and worked as a custodian in many different extended care facilities throughout her career.

Karen attended the Fortville Church of the Nazarene and loved watching the Indianapolis Colts.

Karen is survived by husband Thomas E. Burchett, whom she married March 1, 1968, children: Pamela Scott of Fortville and Teresa Craig of Greensburg; grandchildren: Valerie (Coty) Stark, Veronica Scott, Vanessa (Johnathon) Wendt, Joseph Scott II, Audrea Burchett, Brianna (Dylan) Dyer, Trent Burchett and Terenity Craig; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings: Steve Chapple and Noble Goen as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by children Kathy Burchett and Brian Burchett, her parents and brother Terry Goen.

A funeral to celebrate Karen's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. Memorial contributions may be made to Seals Funeral Home P.O. Box 132 Fortville, Indiana to assist with Karen's final expenses.
