Karen Ann DuPerier, 59, of Herrin, passed away at 6:52 PM, Monday, January 27, 2025 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Karen was born on May 8, 1965 in Oak Forest IL to Kaessy Gelgut and Lillie B. (Arnold ) Gelgut.
She graduated from Herrin high school in 1983 and attended Cosmetology school at John A. Logan. She was currently disabled but worked at Meis, in the cosmetology department.
Karen was full of RESILIENCE. She could light up any room she was in and loved to make people laugh.
She enjoyed spending time with her close friends, listening to music, watching True crime documentaries and spending time with her beloved daughter Kaci when she could.
She is survived by her daughter- Kaci Norris and husband Ethan Norris of Herrin and her grandchildren- Kamryn, Kaysen and Kollyns Norris all of Herrin. Good friends: Tammy Borum of Harrisburg and Christy Sanders of Herrin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog Lexus.
She will be cremated according to her wishes. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.
Memorial donations may be made to the Herrin Animal Shelter or to the family and will be accepted at McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home/ 501 S. 12th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
