Karen F. Hanks

Karen F. Hanks, 78, of Ephrata, PA, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Keystone Villa at Ephrata.

Born in Meadville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Wood) Fleisch. She was the wife of the late Ronald D. Hanks.

Karen was a graduate of Meadville Area High School and PennWest Edinboro University, where she met her husband, Ronald. She began her teaching career with the North Penn School District, where she taught second grade before leaving to raise her children. Upon returning to education, she taught at Deep Run Presbyterian Church, where she led the nursery school's 4+ class for 13 years.

She enjoyed bird watching, antiquing, baking, and organizing family gatherings for birthdays and holidays. Most of all, Karen treasured the time she spent with her granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacey L. Hanks of Blandon, PA; her son, Todd D. Hanks of West Chester, PA; her brother, William Fleisch and his wife, Bonnie Fleisch; and her granddaughter, Emma Rose Hanks.
