Obituary of Karen E. Hohmann
Karen Elizabeth Hohmann, of Vernon, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 68.
Karen is survived by her children; Heidi Floyd and her husband Jason, her son, Erik Hohmann and his wife Jessie, Gretchen Gernat and her husband Larry & Liese Hohmann and her Fiancé Joe; one sister, Patricia Bucek and her spouse Sherrie; eight cherished grandchildren, Carson, Addison, Duke, Antonia, August, Lorelei, Vittoria & Dominick; one aunt, Judith Bonekat and her husband Kit; and several extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Paul David Bucek.
Karen was born in Pittsburgh to the late Meril and Jeannette Bucek. She grew up in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania with her sister and graduated from Hopewell High School in 1974.
Karen was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and family was everything to her.
Karen's life was dedicated to helping others. She had a long career as a medical office assistant with Atlantic Cardiology Group in Mendham before retiring, and she was an EMT instructor and a volunteer for the Denville Fire Department and Dive Team for many years.
Karen had many interests and talents. She was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, and she studied world history. She loved music, attended many concerts and enjoyed playing the clarinet. Karen also had a love of gardening and baking.
Karen truly had a heart of gold. She had a beautiful life and will be forever missed.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the memorial visitation for Karen to be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.

She was a Queen! We laughed, we cried. I am grateful I had her in my life and will miss her. I was so praying she would win her war but winning comes in many forms. She is resting in the loving arms of her heavenly father now and we have a new angel.
