Karen Horvath, 80 of Georgetown, TX passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 after facing health challenges with courage and grace. She was born on November 28, 1944, in Torrington, Connecticut.

Karen graduated from Torrington High School in Torrington, Connecticut. She met her husband, Stephen Horvath in Torrington and moved their family to Texas in 1976. Together they built a lasting marriage that spanned 59 years, and were looking forward to celebrating their 60th anniversary on October 23rd.

Karen poured her energy and talents into her work over the years, enjoying her time at Eanes ISD, New York Life, and later retiring from the Texas Pharmacy Association.

Karen was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. A passionate collector, Karen delighted in discovering treasures at flea markets, antique shows, and quilt shows. Above all, she loved her family deeply and protected them fiercely. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her grandchildren. Whether it was a soccer game, cheer competition, choir concert, or band halftime show, she was always there with pride and encouragement. She also adored her cat, Oreo, her constant companion. She will be remembered for her boundless love, her protective spirit, and the joy she brought to those who knew and loved her.

Karen is survived by her husband, Stephen Horvath; daughters Lisa Almgren, Debbie Seymour, and Kristine Dannheim and her husband Eric Dannheim; and her cherished grandchildren Sarah Almgren Siegel, Melissa Almgren, Rebecca Almgren, Josephine Dannheim, and Maxwell Dannheim. She was preceded in death by her father, George Flynn, and mother, Dorothy Pullin Flynn, brother, George Flynn and sister, Majorie Flynn all of Torrington, Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a local pet rescue organization.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Details to follow.
