Karen Huntzinger age 78 passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a courageous 2-year battle with throat cancer. To the surprise of her medical team, she had successfully beaten the aggressive cancer once before and fought bravely to the end. Born and raised in Huntsville, Ohio, Karen graduated from Bellefontaine High School with the class of 1964. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mother, friend, and second mom to many. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, patience, resilience and strength. Karen always shared a heartfelt smile with everyone around her, even on the toughest of days. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, sewing and needlework, and had a fondness for games and puzzles. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Barbara Springer, husband Ralph Huntzinger, in-laws John Martin Huntzinger and Terry Bussen, and her brother Thomas Dale Springer. Karen is survived by sister Terry Sickels, children, Chad Huntzinger, Terry Saunders, and Jackie Detter, step-father-in-law Jim Bussen, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation to the cancer research organization or hospice provider of your choice, such as the organizations that helped care for Karen in her final days; Ohio's Hospice: www.ohioshospice.org/give and The James Cancer Research: https://giveto.osu.edu/makeagift/details/312726
