Obituary of Karen Marie Espinia Hernandez
Karen Marie Espinia Hernandez, of Pearl River, Louisiana, passed away on June 2, 2022 at the age of 55. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on September 13, 1966, to her loving parents, Ralph Edward Espinia and Mary Catherine McClain. Karen is the beloved wife of 12 years to Zadick Javier Hernandez; cherished mother of Justin James Landreneau and Caleigh Marie Hernandez; and treasured sister of Debbie Marie Schneider, Tina Marie Wertz, Troy A. Spinos, Denise Marie Spinos, and the late Nicky A. Spinos and Lena Marie Louis. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly.
After she graduated from high school, Karen earned a degree in hospitality. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in special education and a Master's degree in reading. Karen touched many lives as a special education teacher and she loved her profession. She also belonged to the Teacher's Union for many years. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, traveling, and watching Judge Judy and I.D., but she loved nothing more than the time she spent with family. Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relative and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A prayer service will begin in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are appreciated.
