Karen L. Smith

ELIZABETHVILLE - Karen L. Smith, age 73, of Elizabethville, PA died suddenly February 16, 2026.

She was born on July 12, 1952 in Annville, PA the daughter of the late Robert Shutt and Cleo (Waters) Malone.

Karen was married to Raymond C. Smith for 9 years.

Karen was a 1970 graduate of Millersburg High School. She retired as assistant manager from Mid Penn Bank, Lykens and was employed there dating back to Miners Bank of Lykens for as long as her daughter can remember.

Karen was a dedicated member of Salem U.C.C., Elizabethville, where she served as church treasurer and was a member of the consistory.

Karen loved her family without fail and was devoted to making sure all of us were cared for. No one was a stranger and all were friends. She loved her gardens and took great pride in her horticultural skills.

In addition to her husband Raymond she is survived by daughter Wendy Zewe of Napa, CA, grandchildren Caelyn Dunnachie, Colby (Skylar) Smith of Mandata, Jordan (Michael) Smith of Knockville, TN. She adored her great grandchilren Hayes and Penelope Smith. She is also survived by her brother Robert Shutt (Geretta) of Carsonville, sisters Beth Boesman (Paul) of Loyalton, Annette Troutman (Ricky) of Jim Thorpe, Vickie Newcom (Timothy) of Halifax.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Aidan, and a step-son David R. Smith, a brother Craig Malone, and her first husband Gerald Zewe.

Memorial services will be held at Salem U.C.C., Elizabethville, on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church prior to the service.
