Karen Gale Sparr, lovingly known as GaGa, was born on January 11, 1954, in Oakland, California. She departed this world on March 13, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi, after a long and valiant. Karen’s journey illuminated by her unwavering faith and her profound love for her family, which she cherished above all else. She came in like a Gale wind unexpected and fierce and she left too soon in the same manner.
A dedicated professional, Karen spent over twenty years with Neopost, a testament to her strong work ethic and commitment to her career. However, her proudest accomplishments lay in her role as a mother and grandmother. She laid a strong and loving foundation for her daughter, Carrie Goode, and her grandchildren—Nathaniel James-Dale Triplett, Haley Price, Sofie Goode, Brody Goode, and Lyndi Marie Gale Goode. With a spirit that embraced the joy of togetherness, Karen was everyone's mom, nurturing a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Karen’s legacy will be forever cherished in the memories she created: the scents of her well done (Burnt) cooking wafting through the house, the vibrant colors of her garden blooming under her care, and the countless moments spent by the beach reminiscing about her beloved California coast. Her gifts were not wrapped in material things, for she knew that the value of each moment was rooted in who you shared it with. Her compassionate heart poured forth love for her family every day, as she believed in making memories that would last a lifetime.
She was the matriarch of the "Sparr Compound," where she lovingly tended to the needs of her whole family, ensuring no one ever felt alone. To Karen, life was about connection—about honoring those she loved with her whole heart. Her daughter and grandchildren were her pride and joy, a testament to her values and priorities.
Karen’s life was shaped by her siblings relationships, including her sister, Diane Warner, She was predeceased by her parents, Dale and Michelle Sparr, and her siblings, Robert "Froggy" Sparr and Linda "Oats" Glass, who she shared countless laughs and memories with her including trips to the ER to have seashells removed from her ear as a child as well as her brother-in-law, Jack Warner. Though they are separated by the veil of death, the love shared among them continues to resonate in the hearts of those left behind.
As we remember Karen, we honor a woman of strength, compassion, and indomitable spirit—a woman who made the simple things in life remarkable through the magic of her presence and the depth of her love. Her memory will live on through her family and the many lives she touched with her nurturing spirit. GaGa, we will forever hold you in our hearts; your legacy of love will guide us in every gathering, in each shared meal, and throughout our cherished memories.
