Kari Lynn Harris (nee Myers), 64, of Westmont, Illinois, passed away October 31, 2024, after an unexpected cardiac event.
Born in Chicago's Gresham neighborhood, Kari graduated from Cass Elementary School and Downers Grove South High School. A few years later, Kari met the love of her life, David Harris. She wanted very much to start a family.
Kari's life was dedicated to the well-being of others. The joy of raising her family drove Kari's very life force. She would stand in front of a lion, a train, a dragon to save her kids and grandkids. She was truly passionate about caring for all of them. She was present for the births of her grandchildren. She was funny, easygoing, smart, giving, generous, and encouraged others to not take themselves too seriously.
Adored wife of 41 years to David Alan Harris. Devoted mother of Jeremy (Mary) and Michael Harris and Ashley (Gaetano) DiGiacinto. Loving grandmother of Owen, Russell, and Paige Harris, and Enzo, Mia, and Sophia DiGiacinto. Cherished daughter of Janiece Jessie Myers (nee Thompson) and sister of Bernard (Marcia), Mark, Douglas (Melissa Moynihan), and Lori (Geoff Loren) Myers.
Preceded in death by father Bernard Anthony Myers and sister-in-law Caroline Zerbe.
The family has chosen cremation services and will gather privately.
