Karolyn Renee Bullock, 57, of Courtland, a dedicated educator and cherished mother, sister, and
daughter, passed away, embraced by loved ones just before dawn on March 15, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at
Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford located at 601 Commerce Parkway Oxford, Mississippi 38655.
The memorial service celebrating her life will occur immediately following the visitation, beginning
at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home.
Renee was born on November 21, 1967, as one of the three children of Charles Thurmon
Montgomery and Dorothy Broadus Finley.
She devoted her life to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring students and colleagues throughout
Texas and Mississippi. As a beloved wife, mother, and friend, her radiant spirit will continue to
illuminate through all those she touched.
Renee leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence:
father, Charles Thurmon Montgomery and his wife Annette of Batesville, Mississippi; mother,
Dorothy Broadus Finley and her husband Miles of Escatawpa, Mississippi; two children: Alex
Bullock of Courtland, Mississippi; Jake Montgomery and his fiancé Ryan Callie of Los Angeles,
California; three siblings: Brent Montgomery and his wife Gina of North Little Rock, Arkansas;
Heather Ratigan of Van Alstyne, Texas; Glyn Thomas and his wife Skye of Powderly, Texas;
beloved grand dog, Penelope of Courtland, Mississippi.
The loved ones that departed from this life include the love of her life, David Bullock, and her
beloved pup, Sophie.
In light of Renee's unwavering dedication to education, the family has requested that backpacks
filled with school supplies be brought to her service in place of flowers as a reminder of her
passion for educating children. After the service, the backpacks will be donated to the South
Panola School District.
