Obituary published on Legacy.com by Winegeart Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
Kate Dee Warling, only 43 years old, of
Pampa, Texas, lost her battle with cancer and entered into complete healing and rest on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at her home with family all around her. She was born on February 20, 1981, to Michael Griffin and Pamela Pinson Griffin in Harlingen, Texas.
While growing up in Colorado, Kate attended and graduated from Arvada High School. It was during this time that her sister, Shannan, took her to her first rock concert to see Def Leopard. Little did Shannan know that it would ignite a love of attending concerts for Kate with Slip Knot being her favorite band!
On August 9, 2003, Kate gave herself completely to Wesley Warling when they exchanged vows to honor and cherish one another. Not long afterwards, her role changed from a wonderful housewife to an amazing mother as well. Kate thoroughly enjoyed camping and fishing with her family in the mountains. One of her favorite activities was swimming in Glennwood Springs.
Often times she enjoyed taking Savannah and her nieces to "High Tea" in Golden, CO where they were able to pretend they were from another era and of royalty. Other times, she simply enjoyed the sheer grit and coolness of muscle and classic cars at car shows. Kate liked watching 80's movies, walking the dogs, Bonnie and Clyde in the park with Wesley, or possibly just creating picture collages for the family to admire. She was an avid Facebook user, but in order to keep in touch with family all over the globe. It was her way of keeping in contact with family and friends. Honestly, Kate was rather simple, she was a minimalist, nothing mattered to her more than her family and her greatest passion in life was spending time with them – no matter where at or what they were doing – just as long as they were together!
In keeping with her simplicity, one of her prized possessions is what started out as a purple sock that her mom made into a baby when she was merely a baby herself. She has kept it all her life no matter what circumstances life has dealt her, she has clung to it.
Kate was welcomed into her Heavenly home with widespread arms by her grandparents, Doris and William Griffin, Rae and Joe Jones.
Those remaining here to treasure her life and hold dear her memories are her husband, Wesley Warling; a son, Devin Warling and daughter, Savannah Warling all of Pampa; her dad, Michael Griffin of Pueblo, CO; mother, Pamela Griffin and husband Alan Altman of Dumont, CO; a brother, Daniel Parr of Lakewood, CO; a sister, Shannan Miller and husband Dion of North Glenn, CO and her faithful sidekicks, Bonnie and Clyde as well as Sweetie Bird, her cockatiel.
For those wishing to pay respects, a viewing will be available on Thursday 8th until 8pm and again Friday 11th from 9 until 8pm at Winegeart Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel with Hector Leal officiating. Cremation will follow our celebration services. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
