Kathe Anna Esser, aged 86, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed on November 10, 2025. Born on March 22, 1939, in East Prussia (present day Lithuania), Kathe eventually grew up in Germany where she would meet and marry her late husband, a Master Sargent in the US Air Force, Henry Peter Esser. She raised three children and lived out her remaining years in Metairie, Louisiana as an American citizen. Kathe had a passion for cooking, family, and life. She loved cooking for her family, friends, neighbors, and her community. It was her joy and her love language. She related to people and life in this world through her passion of food. Kathe was a true survivor in the face of life’s challenges and someone you could count on all the way to the end. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her three children, Karl, Jimmy, and Lori (husband Jason Hasenbuhler), and her twin sister Ilse. Her three grandchildren, Klaire, Nicole, and Markus, knew her as Omi. A memorial service to celebrate Kathe’s life will be held on November 24th, 2025 at 4 P.M. at Bagnell & Son in Covington, Louisiana.
