Katherine Ann Anderson, known affectionately as Kathy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 6, 1946, in Chicago, IL to Andrew and Roberta Vuckovich. Kathy's vibrant spirit was evident to all who knew her. Her final days were spent surrounded by the love of her family in Libertyville, IL.
Kathy's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She and her beloved husband, Marvin Anderson, shared their life in Round Lake Heights for almost 60 years, married in 1965. Together, they raised a family of six children: sons Andrew, Craig, Robert, Kenneth, and Kevin Anderson, and daughter Deanne (Anderson) Cooper. Kathy's role as a mother was her greatest joy and achievement. She also leaves behind sister Roberta and brother Tony as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Her spirited personality extended to her role as a grandmother to Katelynn and Corbin Cooper, Anna Anderson and Ken Anderson (deceased). Kathy's grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved to travel to see her grandchildren and was always interested in their lives. Her generosity, laughter, and wit will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. She leaves behind a family that is grateful for every moment they shared, every lesson she taught, and every memory they will carry forward.
Kathy took great pride in being a homemaker, mother, and wife. She also enjoyed her various positions throughout the years. Beyond her family and work, Kathy had a variety of interests that reflected her fun-loving personality and infectious sense of humor. Kathy's love for comedy was evident in her quick wit. She believed in the power of laughter to find joy in everyday life. Her playful side was also seen in her fondness for playing the lottery and scratching off instant tickets. She approached each ticket with a hopeful heart. Inheriting this trait from her mother, Roberta Vuckovich whom she dearly loved and missed greatly.
As we bid farewell to Katherine Ann Anderson, we celebrate a life lived and a woman loved. She has left an indelible mark on the world, and her memory will live on to all who were touched by her life. Kathy's story is one of love, joy, hope and the enduring strength of family.
