Katherine Brennan Obituary
Kathy was born in 1949 to Roberta and George Skrivanek in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to Bakersfield with her parents and her sisters when she was six years old. Her brother was born shortly after. She attended River Boulevard School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, and Garces Memorial High School.
In October of 1969, she met Oliver Brennan. They married less than three months later. Three years later, she had her son, Keith, followed two years later by Karen, and three years after that by Erin.
Kathy, along with her mother, Roberta, and her sister, Laurie, ran Harvey's Antiques and Gifts for over 30 years. She retired shortly before her husband, Oliver, retired from BCSD. Unfortunately Oliver passed away shortly after he retired in 2003.
Kathy enjoyed reading everything, cooking, playing bingo, and playing on a slot machine. She loved to travel and she really enjoyed a cruise. She racked up quite the status on several cruise lines with a combination of her passions.
By far, her greatest pleasure was her grandkids Kaylee, Jacob, Leo, Kurtis, Thomas, Brennan, Stuart, Sarah, Abigail, Charles, and Phillip. They truly opened her heart with their joy.
Kathy is survived by her sister Pam Baugher (Fred), sister Laurie Weir, brother George Skrivanek (Cindy), son Keith Brennan (Sheryl), daughter Erin Estep (John), daughter Karen Holland (Leo), many nieces, nephews in law, and their beautiful children. Kathy also treasured many friends including her dear friend of over 50 years, Allen Belluomini. The family is especially grateful to Anu Rao for her support in the last two weeks of Kathy's life.
Kathy did not want a service, but the family is planning a get together early in the summer.
