Katherine Suzanne "Sue" Casson-Daugherty, age 77, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She was born November 10, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, to John William Casson and Lois Pratt Casson. Sue graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1965 and later from the Klamath Falls School of Cosmetology in 1967. She went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career as a well-known beautician throughout the Klamath Falls community. Her clients often became lifelong friends, drawn in by her warm spirit, sharp wit, and genuine care for others.
On June 10, 1972, Sue married the love of her life, Dave Daugherty, in Carson City, Nevada. Together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and family. They raised three children: Kelly Vaughn (and husband Robert)of Klamath Falls, Kristina Shade (and husband Ken) of Arvada, Colorado and Joseph Daugherty of Klamath Falls.
Sue is survived by her beloved grandchildren Levi, Dakota, and Savannah Vaughn; Kyra Shade; Mariah and Joe Daugherty, and her cherished great-grandchildren Blake, Izabella, and Aaliyah; by her sister, Roberta Casson, along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Her love for her family was only matched by her sassiness and quick sense of humor. She found joy in the simple things - mushroom picking, fishing, camping, going for drives, visiting the casino, and spending time with the people she loved most. She always looked at the bright side of life and had a way of making everyone laugh, even on the hardest days.
Sue lived by her favorite saying: "Why worry about the problems of today, when tomorrow you'll have a whole new set problems.! Just let them zip on by."
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Lois Casson; her husband, Dave Daugherty; her sister, Georgia Keyser; and her grandson, Joseph Vaughn.
Sue will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and kindness. She touched countless lives with her laughter and love. Her legacy lives on through her family and friends, each carrying a piece of her bright spirit forward.
Services will be held Sunday, October 12 at 2:00 PM, at O'hair-Wards Funeral Chapel, 515 Pine Street, Klamath Falls, Oregon where loved ones will gather to celebrate a life well lived and a love never forgotten.
