Celebrating a Life of Grace, Devotion, Resilience and Quiet Strength

A woman who delighted in life's simple and profound pleasures, Kay Fieldhouse passed away peacefully at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and cherished memories for all who knew her. Born in Baltimore in 1930, Kay's journey was marked by quiet grace and steadfast joy. She was married for 67 years to the love of her life, the late Charles Fieldhouse, and together they built a home filled with laughter and love in Parkton, Maryland, where she lived for over sixty years. She was beloved not only by family but also by neighbors, who remember her gentle spirit and welcoming nature.

Kay was predeceased by her dear sister, Doris Flemming, and brother-in-law, Charles Flemming. She adored her devoted nephew, Duane Flemming and his husband, Ivan Cheung, whose love and companionship brought her much happiness and comfort in her later years.

A trailblazer in her professional life, Kay enjoyed a successful 35-year career working at Martin Marietta Data Systems, earning respect in a male-dominated field through diligence and integrity. She was twice recognized with the prized Excalibur Award for her contributions. Alongside her husband, they owned and operated Charlie's Timonium Sunoco Gas Station from 1971 thru 1987, demonstrating her unwavering work ethic and commitment to community. Her career and business endeavors were driven not by accolades but by the quiet pride of a job well done.

Kay's fondness for Maryland steamed crabs and crab cakes was legendary-whether savored at a family gathering or at one of her favorite local spots, she believed there was nothing quite like the taste of the region's signature dish. She also had a penchant for dark chocolate, always keeping a little stash on hand to share with guests or to sweeten solitary moments. These small pleasures, lovingly shared, became hallmarks of her generous spirit.

Her kindness, thoughtful gestures, and devotion to family and friends remain her enduring legacy. Kay touched the lives of many with her sincerity, her gentle humor, and her ability to find joy in life's everyday moments. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her memory living on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her in return.

A celebration of Kay's life will be held this fall. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Kay's lifelong commitment to community service and care, donations may be made to the Hereford Volunteer Ambulance Association or the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company.

May her gentle soul rest in peace, forever remembered for the light she brought to those around her.
