Katherine M. Mumford, 68, of New Castle passed away the morning of September 10, 2025 at her residence.
Born in New Castle on March 26, 1957 Kathy was the daughter of the late William F. and Loretta (Rita) Altman Llewellyn.
Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, David "Salty" Mumford. The two were married on January 8, 2005.
Kathy had worked for Liberty Mutual as a Senior Medical Bill Payment Specialist for twenty-seven years, until she retired.
Kathy enjoyed going to Bingo and was an avid reader. She was known as the Rock and the Glue of her family. Always taking care of everything and everybody. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, one of Kathy's favorite past times was taking trips to the Camp with her family.
In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her three children, Rikki Yaros (Scott), Nicholas R. McVay and Alicia Cook (Billy), her three brothers, William Llewellyn (Carole), Carl Llewellyn, and Steve Llewellyn (Renee), her two sisters, Donna DeCarlo and Deb Llewellyn and her three grandchildren, Morgan L. Farley, Aiden Heichel and Ty Cook.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Jenni Llewellyn.
Honoring her wishes services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
