Katherine Ione "Kitty" Rhoades age 88 of Danville passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at her home,

Kitty was born April 12, 1937 in Glenmora, Louisiana to the late Louis Olen "Bill" & Edith Ione Carroll Grantham. She was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Mt. George E.H. Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon Rhoades, husband and father of her children, Wayne Van Pelt, son Ronald Rhoades, brother William "Tobe" Grantham, step-mother, Yvonne Grantham.

Survivors include her children, Gary Van Pelt, Cindy Dixon, Stephanie & John Hettinger, Wendy & Dennis Neighbours, Terry Lane and daughter-in-law, Linda Rhoades. 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Danville First Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Morris officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm before at the church. Burial will be private at Shephard Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Austin Culwell, Justin Culwell, Josh Culwell, Wayne Van Pelt, Joey Van Pelt, and Andrew Rhoades.

Honorary pallbearers include Mark Jensen, Braden Adkins, Jarrod Rhoades, Todd Grantham, Gerald Havell, Kaylee Merideth and all of her loving great-grandchildren and Cindy Yandell.

A special thanks to Hospice Home Care - Russellville for the loving care they gave to our mother.
