Katherine Ruth (Ray) Whitaker, 92 of Portland, Tn. passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at White House Health Care and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Whitaker was born in Fountain Head (Portland) on June 2, 1933 to the late Luther Ray and Ruby Wilkerson Ray.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Ray Whitaker and siblings Queenie Mai Upchurch, Lila George, Earl C. Ray, Helen George and James Willard Ray.
Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her children, Ray(Tammy) Whitaker, Jane(Danny) Ragland; grandchildren, Jason(Callie) Whitaker, Heather(Daniel) Brown, Mark(Shelby) Ragland, Brant(Branden) Corlew, Lindsay(C.J.) Stanley; great grandchildren, Copelynne Whitaker, Jaycee Whitaker, Jaxon Whitaker, Clayton Brown, Carlin Brown, and soon-to-arrive, Riley Ragland, Branley Corlew-Hodges(Rachel), Cassie Corlew, Mattellen Colgate, Sierra, Dallas, Daxton and Ariana.
Funeral service for Mrs. Whitaker will be on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Wilkinson Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Brady officiating, with visitation on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 2 until 8 p.m. and on Friday, July 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.(funeral time).
Following the funeral service, internment will be in Halltown Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Dan Smallwood, David Smallwood, Mark Ragland, Daniel Brown, Copelynne Whitaker, Jaycee Whitaker and Jaxon Whitaker with Clayton Brown, Daniel Williams, Jason Whitaker and Brant Corlew serving as honorary pallbearers.
