Kathi Ann Walker Taylor, 70, of Rayle, Georgia, died Saturday, September 28, 2024, at The Orchard in Athens, Georgia.
Memorial graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery, 256 Benjamin H. Hill Drive SW, Fitzgerald, Georgia 31750. The family will greet friends following the services at the cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor was born February 12, 1954, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Dr. Milton E. & Mary Lewis Walker. She attended Tift County Schools and later Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She earned a Bachelors degree in Medical Technology from the Medical College of Georgia. Kathi worked in immunology for Emory University and also worked for the UGA School of Veterinary Medicine. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed visiting Fernandina Beach, Florida. She loved listening and dancing to all genres of music. Kathi and her late husband Steve enjoyed traveling all over the world.
She is survived by her siblings: Milt & Kellie Walker of Tifton, Nancy W. & Tommy Pace of Sylvania, and Beth W. & Doug Hurt of Tifton; nieces and nephews: Kim & Steve Hinley, Julie & Richard Stubbs, Allen & Sara Pace, Melissa Harper, Lucy Walker, Sam & Jason Singletary, Clint Donald, and Elizabeth Ann Hurt; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Stephen Taylor.
The Walker family would like to acknowledge Marianna Connor and Gerry Crowley Wilson for their friendship and care of Kathi as well as a special Thank You to David Barrows for his unconditional love and devotion to Kathi.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring to send memorials may send them to the Alzheimer's' Association, South Georgia Service Area, P.O. Box 14, Tifton, GA 31794.
