Kathie Bosh, "Green Grandma," "Ma," and "Hen"
August 12, 1962 – November 24, 2024
Kathie Bosh, affectionately known as "Green Grandma," "Ma," and "Hen," passed away on November 24, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 62 years old.
Born on August 12, 1962, in Cottonwood heights, Utah, Kathie was a light in the lives of all who knew her. Fiercely loving and deeply dedicated to her family, she spent her life creating lasting memories and making sure everyone felt special and cared for. Whether she was hosting one of her legendary parties, planning family adventures to places like Disney or Lagoon, or simply offering a warm hug and a listening ear, Kathie was always the spark that ignited joy in every room.
Kathie was the heart and soul of her family, and her love was felt deeply by all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved parents, Kent and Evelyn Mortensen, her loving husband, Michael, and her daughters Brooke (Jason) and Amber (Steven). Kathie was the proud grandmother (and great-grandmother) of her "favorite people on Earth" - Cody, Sammy, Addy, Daxy, Jaxon, Jessie, and Jordyn, and her great-grandson Austin Tripp. Her grandkids were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Kathie's love extended to her sisters, whom she adored: Kellie (Mark), Michelle (John), Kim (Derek), and her honorary sister Lesa (Chris). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Kathie's affection for her honorary family, the Green family, was immense, and she appreciated their kindness and support.
Kathie was preceded in death by her loving grandparents Mary, Irv, Leonard, and Venice, and her sweet grandson Michael Scow who welcomed her with open arms into heaven.
A remarkable businesswoman, Kathie took over the family business, Intermountain Ornamental Iron, with pride and passion, building it into a legacy she was incredibly proud of. She followed in her father's footsteps, running the business with the same integrity and dedication that defined every aspect of her life.
Above all, Kathie was a fierce and loving mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she would give anything to help those in need, whether it was advice or the shirt off her back. Kathie was known for her generous heart, her sharp mind, and her unwavering loyalty. She was a woman of adventure and fun, always seeking out new ways to create joy and excitement for her family.
Kathie was taken from us too soon, but we take comfort in knowing she is preparing the best party in heaven for when we all join her. Rest easy, Mom. We will bring the champagne and celebrate the love and joy you brought into our lives. You will forever be missed and cherished, and we will hold onto the time we had with you. We love you to the moon and back, and we know you'll always be watching over us.
