She is lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend, Dale; her children Jill (Mike), Tricia (Mark), and Ryan; and her treasured grandchildren Nick, Sarah (fiancé Anna), Jacob, and Rachel. Kathy's family was the joy of her life, and she delighted in attending every sporting event, cheering passionately from the stands.
Kathy dedicated many years to teaching in the Hudsonville schools, shaping countless young lives with patience, wisdom, and care. Her home was always open, a place where family, friends, and even strangers were welcomed with warmth, laughter, and a meal at the table. Feeding others was not just something she did, but a reflection of her generous spirit.
Though she will be deeply missed, Kathy's unwavering faith and love for people live on in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.
Funeral services for Kathy will be held on Wednesday, September 17, at 2:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church, 3617 Hillcrest Rd. Hudsonville, MI 49426. Visitation will be held at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, from 5 to 7 P.M. and on Wednesday from 1 to 2 P.M. at Hillcrest CRC.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hand2Hand.
